Upcoming Bye-Polls Scheduled for June 19 Across Four States

Bye-Polls Announcement by Election Commission

The Election Commission has declared that bye-elections for five Assembly seats across four states are set for June 19, with results expected to be revealed on June 23.

These bye-polls will take place in two constituencies in Gujarat, along with one each in Kerala, Punjab, and West Bengal.

In Gujarat, the elections will occur in Kadi, located in the Mehsana district, and Visavadar in the Junagarh district. The need for these elections arose following the passing of Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Karsanbhai Punjabhai Solanki and the resignation of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Bhupendrabhai Bhayani, who has since joined the BJP.

In Kerala, the bye-election will be conducted in Nilambur, situated in the Malappuram district, due to the resignation of Left Democratic Front MLA PV Anvar, who has switched allegiance to the Trinamool Congress.

Punjab's Ludhiana West constituency will also hold a bye-poll following the death of Aam Aadmi Party MLA Gurpreet Gogi.

Lastly, in West Bengal, a bye-election is scheduled for Kaliganj in the Nadia district due to the passing of Trinamool Congress MLA Nasiruddin Ahamed.
